decide whats important get two jobs if you have to then you will find a nice place to live, if you are asking about section 8, pets are usually not allowed if you cant feed yourself how can you expect the gov to feed your pet ahh this country its a damn shame

When I lived in the Bay Area, I had good luck with Craigslist. You might want to consider a roommate situation. It might be worth trying to get your part time job in the Presidio so that you qualify to live there.

Also, your school will have programs to help.

You are not going to get “safe and nice” and affordable together.

You need to pick.

Finding a pet friendly apartment will be close to impossible, especially on the low end. You need to loose the pet.

Forget Marin, Berkeley and SF.

You might find something under 1500 a month in Hayward, San Leandro, or if you are very lucky Castro Valley.

Otherwise you need to be looking in Richmond, Pinole, around there.
