I just graduated this year, class of 09!
Well in spite of it all, I did pretty bad during my time in H.S. (low GPA 2.1) but did okay on SAT (1830). I was left with pretty much the only option of either, going to a CC for two years and try a shot at a four-year Uni/state school OR joining the USAF as an enlisted and take some college courses online while there (free tuition) then continue school after my service.
I’m partial to the idea of moving out earlier and serving my country in the AF, versus staying home and working two years to transfer to a four-year, where my credits might not even transfer. At least in the military I’ll have earned some money and built a good track record to put towards my resume.
Need some opinions… thanks.
Congrats on your graduation!
I’m in the AF and it’s treated me well. Nowadays almost all the bases offer actual college classes on base. They bring in professors and teachers from surrounding colleges and teach classes in the evenings which is also free to active duty military members. So you can kill two birds with one stone move out, make some money and get your degree(free of cost)
If you want I could answer any questions you have, sometimes recruiters can bend the truth a little about what to expect.
