Ive seen a distance learning course for counselling online. It says after completion of course i will be awarded a Diploma in counselling, with the knowledge I gain from the course would this suffice to open my own Privatecounselling clinic with just me as the counsellor? Or would i require more training etc.

Absolutely not. No online course is a qualification for counseling, much less for opening a clinic. You have to have at least a masters degree and a license in the state in which you’ll work. Don’t give them any of your money, you’ll be throwing it away.
