So I had my heart set on going to Laurel Springs School because they have everything that I’m looking for in a distant learning school. They offer…
-one teacher per subject, per year (in other words, school work that you turn in, is not graded by various teachers; it’s graded by the same teacher all year long)
-learning styles: they honor your learning style & how you best learn; they don’t make you match the school material they let the school material match you
-support: they offer a great support system & I know this because I’ve e-mailed them several questions & they always respond promptly with answers to my questions & this is important to me because my parents lack in giving me the proper support I need
-customized curriculum: I have learning disabilities & I have yet to find any other distance learning or homeschooling program that offers this
-last, several colleges have accepted students who’ve attended this school & every college that I’m interested in attending says they will accept their work
However, the only downfall that I can see is that the school costs well over $5,500.00 per school year. But, they are a private school. I really want to attend their distance learning school but my parents say that if I want to go, I have to pay for it.
Yes, I know it’s a lot to pay for high school, but I have been unable to find any other school that offers their QUALITY & it’s not unheard of for a private school to cost this much! Does anyone know of any distance learning schools or homeschooling programs that come close to Laurel Springs quality?
Or what are your opinions on the cost? And please don’t say that the schools just after big money because I’ve never gotten that impression from them & I’m pretty good at detecting BS.
