you can get your Ba - even a masters degree entirely online.

But this is not sufficient to teach - you need a credential - As far as i know there is only one online school suggesting that they offer an online credential - be wary of it tho - I know of noone who has taken it - do not even know what states they are in agreements with.

here is the problem_

student teaching - all programs must have state requirements taken care of - tests, classes, state approval and student teaching. the student teaching is the problem - how can a large online school have the resources to mentor new teachers within their classrooms if the entire country needs to be covered - impossible.

So look into it if you wish - but make sure its approved by your state - every state lists its approved programs on their teacher credentialing website. (its western governors uni btw if you want to research it)

well before you get hired you have to get certified and during your certification you will do some student teaching. just having a degree in education is not enough, afterwards you must get certified and the initial certification process usually takes about a year. so when you apply for jobs all they really care about is what your degree is in and what you are certified to teach, not how you obtained it.
