I need $4500 a semester for school. I’ve been homeless since 2002 and spend most of my time looking for a job online at the library. I was laid off from my job and haven’t been able to find work ever since other than doing an odd job from time to time to buy food. My old roommate got a grant to pay for his school and room and board so he doesn’t have to work. I tried to get a grant and loans but everything turned up nothing. Someone stole my identity a few years back and doing even the simple things like rent an apartment is impossible I can’t do anything to get a loan or bank account. I really have to get a degree and move somewhere else. I really don’t understand where to start, I’ve talked to people at our local tech school but most people aren’t willing to help someone that has fallen as far as I have.
I have nothing else to do with my time but educate myself.

First of all, go to a school that is accredited. You will get the most financial aid at an accredited school. Most tech schools are not accredited.
Second, financial aid is not based on your credit. The Pell Grant, which everyone under a certain income can get, will most likely pay for your entire education and then some. After that you can apply for student loans, which If I remember correctly, is not based on credit either.
Go to an accredited school and ask to speak to a financial aid counselor for more information.
