On the historically black school question, they will let you in even if you are white. This isnt the 1960s anymore. Times have changed since that era.

Your mom is right. I think its better to do that. You save money by doing that. You need to see what classes would transfer to that college you would like to go to. Only credits transfer. Not your GPA. As long as the school is accredited, you shouldnt have any problem with your classes transferring.
