Unfortunately with RN training the only thing that you would probably be able to do on line is the pre reqs for the program, as the RN program is a very intensive hands-on and theoretical course. Truthfully if I was in the position of hiring a nurse, I would not hire one that did just an online training course. There are a lot of good nursing schools around the United STates and Canada. If you tell us where you’re looking at taking the training, it may help us to be able to come up with the places that will be able to help you find some training in the field that you’re looking for.

you can look for colleges that have a degree prgram which is if you already have one bachelors you can obtain another in 2 years. or just apply to a school have your credits transfer over and do the rn course. i knew a women that held a masters degree in psychology and return to school to obtain a associates degree in nursing. sometimes you have to take a step back to go forward

The RN is a license – you don’t “get it first.”

The only way to become an RN is to graduate from a BSN degree program or an ASN (Associate’s in Nursing) program (sometimes mislabeled as an “RN degree”) and then passing the licensing exam.

What you need to do is look up college in your area offering “Accelerated BSN degree”. If you already have a bachelors degree in ANYTHING you can apply for an accelerated BSN program. However not all colleges offer it. And you really can’t work while in the program because it sounds intense. For example I know that the only public college in Mass is UMass Amherst that offers the accelerated BSN program.

Or you can start fresh and apply for a BSN program at a 4 year college. And no you do not need to be a RN first to get into a BSN program.
