I am attending a university online, and I ran into a problem?

I submitted an essay for my class, I used a source from the internet in my paper. I did reference the source, but my instructor gave me a 0 and said that i committed plagiarism, and it was going to be forwarded to the university for review on the matter. . I am really scared, and feel that since I did reference the source that I did not commit plagiarism. What do some of you think? I haven’t spoke to the university yet, but can’t get it off my mind. Pleas help give an honest opinion.

This is the nice thing about a traditional university. You get to speak to real people when problems arise.

I would try to speak to someone on the phone or try writing a polite email asking exactly what the problem is and how you can resolve it. make it clear that you did reference the source and apologize for doing it incorrectly and will learn the correct way for the future. you did not intentionally plagiarize anything. good luck.
