You will put the date of the Convocation – which is 2013 As that is the date that you are receiving your diploma.

If it bothers you that it is 6 months later, you can add a statement a line or two lower saying, “having completed the requirements for ” ” degree in December of 2012.

Put 2013 on the invitation if you are going to be participating in commencement in May or June 2013. Lots of colleges do NOT have December commencement services. When i got my master’s degree, I walked commencement in May, 2000 even though i technically did not graduate until July 29. If you want to invite people, put 2013 on your innovations. Your diploma and transcripts will have the correct date. I needed the psychological closure of commencement because it took me @) YEARS to get my master’s degree. See my profile.

Yes, you can put class of 2012 on your invitations. Even if you walk in 2013. You mite wish to mail a short personal note with your invitations that explain what is happening in a few short words. And don’t worry to much about the people who glance and throw. The ones how love you will read more closely because they know you and will want to know what you are up to.
