Hey! I’m glad you’ve made the commitment to pursue higher education. The University of Texas at San Antonio is a fine, emerging tier-one school and a great choice.

I’m a current UTSA student (go ‘Runners!) and I absolutely love it. We have a vibrant campus life (over 30,000 students), a record-breaking football team, and research university-quality academics.

This page here ( will be a great guide for you on your journey to an acceptance letter. Talk to your adviser at South Texas College about what courses will transfer. Generally, core curriculum is the same throughout Texas.

Be warned, UTSA does reject a good amount of applicants. In 2012, 73% of freshmen were accepted. The average SAT score for regular admit first-time freshmen was 1032, and it is increasing slightly every year. Luckily, transfer students are admitted more often, but standards are increasing all the time.

In summation, keep those grades up! Make A’s and B’s, write a great essay, and get involved in extracurricular activities to raise your chances of admission. Good luck and I hope to see you at school soon! :)
