Because you get upset easily, your parents are making you stay in school so you can become better with social interactions with your peers.

Either that or they don’t think you can get a good enough education being homeschooled.

And I don’t think being homeschooled for 4 mo. is worth it.
The transition time and everything takes up too much time.

You need to stick it out at school and do the best you can. As a teacher myself, I feel that you can not get the kind of education you get in a classroom from an online homeschooling course.
Chances are that you are not the only one who is having difficulty at school. Wether it be social or academic, things will work themselves out.
If you feel you need more focused instruction from you teachers, ask them, that is what they are there for. Most are more than willing to help students who ask for help. You will never get that kind of individual attention from an online course.
4 months is not that long…You can do it!

Although I’m a homeschooling parent and support homeschooling, you are probably better off staying in school if you are heading to a college prep school in the fall. A lot of schools make it difficult for homeschoolers and won’t recognize the work they’ve done at home. You likely won’t be able to switch to online schooling at this point. And 4 months of homeschool just really isn’t worth it–it’s not going to make that much of a difference.

That you get upset comes from within you. Being at home isn’t going to stop you from getting upset. Pretend if you have to that the prep school has set up your current schooling situation as a test to your commitment to get in. Focus on your school work and on preparing for the new school, not on how you don’t like going to school and on things that make you upset.

Consider all the reasons your parents don’t want you to homeschool. Then do the research to see if those are good reasons. One you mentioned was that she is afraid she won’t be able to teach you because she doesn’t have a degree. You don’t need one to homeschool and in high school (even if you don’t do it online) a parent rarely needs to teach. For the most part, you will be able to teach yourself. My mom doesn’t have a degree, but she started homeschooling me in nineth grade, and it is going well. I don’t take online courses, but you can if you want. The first year I used a homeschooling curriculum, and after that we starting compiling different books and text books from different places and those are what I use. List for your parents all the pros to homeschooling. You can pick out a curriculum that fits you best and can go at your own pase. You will have more time, so you can get a job. And there are many homeschool groups out there, so you will be able to still be social. I’ve done bowling, archery, art, and many other fun stuff with other homeschoolers. You just need to get out there and look. There are so many homeschool activities that you could never do them all. I signed up for e-mails about homeschooling activities. Right now I take classes with other homeschoolers every Monday. Also, you can take college courses in your spare time (that is pretty common to do in 11th and 12th grade and helps a lot). Just make sure you homeschool for the right reasons. You also need to be disciplined, because while your at your house and can do anything you want, it can be hard to keep your mind on homeschooling.
