If you want to be in good institutes for teaching english, you need a degree. But you can get les prestigious jobs easily since you are a canadian in china, south korea or taiwan.

Without a degree you won’t be able to get anything other than a basic entry-level job in somewhere like China or Thailand. The same jobs will employ almost any native speaker, qualified or not. But you should really take a basic course to learn what to do in class and give yourself more confidence. You can either do this at a local school or online.
