My suggestion is dont waste your money that way. Wedding consultants add value by knowing many vendors in an area, having good taste, keeping up with trends, and being intuitive. These are not things you can learn at online college. Better you should get experience by working for caterers, hospitality management companies, etc., and better yet that you should develop some connections with fancy people. If you’ll notice, the “best” wedding planners are the ones who plan weddings for the richest people. Degrees dont make a damn in this field, it’s about whether you’re comfortable walking in the front door of the Yacht Club.

Don’t waste your money throw a small party and get some experience and spend some time getting to know your local vendors instead.

Don’t waste your time and most important your MONEY. I am a wedding/ event planner and I’ve had my own business for over 9 years. I started off by doing events for free and helping with friends and family parties and weddings. I’ve been very successful in this and I love it so much.I went to school for something totally different but this is where my heart is. Networking is the key. Good Luck.
