I think this depends on what online program you use. If it’s online courses through the college you attend it shouldn’t make a difference. If it’s a strictly online college I think the degree is a lot less respected. It wouldn’t hurt to call a few potential employment companies and ask thier feelings on the degree. Tell them you are a student and were wondering what thier attitude is on the subject.

As with most answers in Education, it depends. Some schools that have both a campus and online degrees don’t differentiate between the two. In other words, in some cases, a degree earned online does not indicate it was online. Most of the state schools are like this. Potential employers wouldn’t know unless you told them. Other schools that are wholly online or mostly online, a potential employer might assume the degree was online even if you attended campus. University of Phoenix is an example of a mostly online school that have campus degrees also.
