Hi there,
I have been trying to get a job in my field for 2.5 months now. I know it’s not that long, but i am wondering if there is everyone else out there having the same problem.
I graduated with a Master’ Degree in Human Resource Management. I think my profile is quite good compared with fresh collage graduate students. I have almost 2 years of work experience from aboard. (1 year work experience in customer service and international project coordinator. Plus, 9 months of full-time work experience in Human Resource Management). All the companies that i used to work with were big companies. By saying big, i mean, they were big enough to have many branches all around the world.
I have applied for job online for more than 70 jobs in the past 2.5 months. (I applied both job openings in my area and out of states). The strange thing is I have heard NOTHING back from them, accept nice/polite denied letters. Even some jobs that i think i am so qualified for it, they denied. I feel so discourage.
I have couple questions below…
1. I live in Hawaii… Is this such a turn off for companies on the mainland to hire me? (I mean because i am too far away).
2. My first name on the resume is not an English name (But i have English last name). Do you think this make them hesitate to hire some one who’s not from the US? (I have US work permit and everything ready to provide them).
Please kindly advise me.
Thank you so much.

1)You have to express that you are willing to move for work
2)You have to have a good resume/cover letter
3)Try and look for jobs in your state
4)You won’t always start at the top, go for jobs that people don’t want.More on resume the better.
