I have been working at this company for a year now and I really want to use the experiences I got into a new company . The main reason I want to do that Is because I was hired as a “test assistant” and then promoted to “Production manager” .
Currently , I am on my 5th electronics engineering related project at this job and I have gained a lot of valuable knowledge also because it’s a start up company basically.
Although I like the company and everything,
I am still a “production manager”, eventhough I have a degree in Electrical and computer engineering from a accredited college.
I am only getting paid $15/hour and I was promised a raise 2 months ago , on the basis that i’ll get it when the company gets 2 more customers.
But so far, not good. The company makes GPS equipments for cars trucks etc..
I have to pay off my college loans, my credit cards , pay bills and I am barely making ends meet with my $15/hour job.
What do you guys think , my next step should be ?
I think I am ready to apply for jobs online and through websites . good idea or wait out for the raise?

Here in Iowa we have Stanley Consulting-one of the world’s largest. Try them or, go “outside the box”- manufacturing plants use cutting edge technology-HON, Heinz, Monsanto. Go through the yellow pages-find large companies.
You may have to make a lateral move to something that is not immediately familiar. Another way to go- look at the names of the companies that make the electronic devices you use- contact them I think you get my drift. I hope you do well.
