I’m only good at math if a calculator is involved. I did horribly at my math class this previous semester due to the fact that I wasn’t allowed to have a calculator til the mid term where I already done failed the class so it did no help for me.
So I was thinking about this semester retaking the class but doing it online so I can use my calculator?
What do you think about that? Would it be considered cheating? I know online classes at my college don’t make you do finals or mid terms but they do have lots of homework assignments that are due witch will help me a lot vs my previous class we only had five test a midterm and final.
Just trying to get an idea?
I can figure out the basic things like simple equations and what not and basic math with out a calculator. But when we get into the big stuff I need a calculator.
Just not sure if it would be considered cheating if I do it online and with a calculator?
Well good thing my neighbor and mother in law are GREAT at math!

Taking a math class online when you’re bad at it, especially when you’ve already failed the class once, is a bad idea. Online classes require that you learn a lot more on your own, since you don’t have lectures to help you, and often are more self-pased, which is bad if you aren’t motivated to do the subject.
If it says not to use a calculator, yes, using a calculator would be considered cheating. However, if I were teaching an online course where it would be that easy to cheat, I’d circumvent it by making you demonstrate every single step of the problem – therefore making the calculator useless except for basic addition / subtraction / multiplication / division. I’m sure your teacher has thought of that as well.
