Technically it doesn’t matter. They are both the same thing in the eye of potential schools or employers. My sis-in-law got her GED and then went onto college and nursing school without any problems.

I’d personally go for the GED and get your life started especially with a baby on the way! Good for you either way, hope it all works out! :)

i personally got my ged at 16. i began college that same semester. i am also going to school for nursing . the only downfall. in it may vary by your state so i would look into if i were you . here in florida you have to attend community 2 year college and get your associates degree then transfer to a 4 year university because you have a ged. other than that you have a good as Chance as any one else. hope i helped. i say get your ged.

I don’t think you realize how demanding the baby will be. You’re going to have to put it’s needs first. The online courses will be better for you because you can study while the baby sleeps. Nursing school is very demanding and they are inflexible about the taking the required courses. Most programs have a set group of classes they want you to take each semester, usually 4. They’re all day, 4 to 5 days a week. Nursing school is tough for a single person, let alone a new mother. Odds are slim you’ll make it. Keep doing what you’re doing with the online courses and take care of your baby. P.S. Congratulations and I hope its healthy.
