I’m 19, freshmen.. a guy.. I am strongly thinking of not taking a class and instead looking for a part time job over the summer but the economy is weak especially in Florida… A college class especially one like Anatomy w/ lab would be grueling considering I would have to go to class Monday through Thursday from 12:30 – 3:20 -Why so long? An hour and 20 minutes of the time is lecture, then the rest of the time is “lab time”
I’m working towards becoming a Nurse. On top of the stress of making a decision like this by Saturday (Because deadlines are approaching rapidly to sign up for summer classes and financial aid) I also am moving to the town next to me (w/ my mom). So I have to pack up all my stuff.. so on and so forth, Plus I have TONS of work to deal with currently.
I have a 4 page essay for anatomy class due monday. I have several finals to worry about such as My Ethics final, My math final especially (since I’m weak at math and the grade I get on it is crucial as to whether I’ll get out of developmental math or have to repeat the same course again) Plus an Anatomy final which is an extremely difficult class. I also have literally – Assignments for anatomy that is like 150 questions that I have to look up the answers to them in the book.
I also have zero social support. I haven’t had friends in over a year (only online friends) I just hang in there I guess, Maybe I should take the summer off for a break?
But even then… I don’t believe summer classes start until june 3rd so I would have 3 weeks off that should be plenty time to recharge and be re – energized for a new class I would think. Hmm, I’m not sure what to do… I never realized it would take this long to get my nursing degree. At the rate I’m going at I still have to complete Math 1033, then college algebra, Child development, then Anatomy 1, then anatomy 2 and finall microbiology.
So at this rate if I skip the summer and take no classes the very SOONEST i can have all my classes for the nursing program is in the fall of 2011 (that’s if I take microbiology in the summer)
This is crazy! I’ve been going to college full time since August. Taking Environmental science was a complete waste, it had nothing to do with whats required for my nursing degree. Grumble.. grumble…
jeeeez i would say no. you obviously need to relax so take a break from school and maybe get a part-time or volunteer job at a hospital, that would be really good for you, to actually try and apply some of your knowledge. most people go to school for 4 years to become a nurse, and in my case actually 5 because i’m doing a co-op, but really dude, take a break from class.
