You will need a Master’s degree. Community college faculty do not need a teaching certificate. If you are still in college you should talk to some of your philosophy profs about programs they might know of. I’m sure that there are Master’s programs out there you just need to look farther from home.
Another thing you could do is find out where you local community college philosophers have gone to grad school, what their degree is in, and how much education they have (Ph.D. vs. MA).
