Kaplan is among the worst.

“Price doesnt really matter that much because im in the miltary and they will pay for it.”

That should be a major scandal. The military (ie the taxpayer) should stop paying for degrees from worthless schools.

Please permit me to answer outside the box.

Kaplan is a for-profit proprietary university. Accordingly its degrees are given little if any respect by many employers and most other universities. I would not spend my time and benefits there,

You may be having difficulty in finding a program because of the lack of opportunities for people with this degree.

I have completed a career as a public prosecuting attorney and I cannot think of a good career path for this degree for people who will leave the military. The main utility of such a degree would be to advance in police administration or a probation department. I emphasize the word “advance”. Most agencies promote from within and having the extra letters after your name could increase chances for promotion. However, a knowledgeable top boss will not give much or any weight to a Kaplan degree.

If you are in the middle of a military career in the military police, etc,, you can easily find out if a Kaplan degree is respected and useful for promotion in your organization.

The reason proprietary degrees are given little respect is that the primary duty of a proprietary college is to make money for its owners, even at the expense of having to give a very substandard education to the students. Instructors at proprietary universities tend to be part time employees who are nowhere near the top in their fields. Standards are set low to keep students enrolled. Profits come before quality.

Getting online degree is not that easy. Getting one that provides degree having affiliation from US Department of Education should be your main concern because such degrees are looked upon by employers respectfully. And since you have chosen Kaplan University, you seem to be very well aware of this fact.
Kaplan is accredited by higher learning commission and is also a member of The North Central Association (NCA).
While searching for other accredited universities offering online master degree in Criminal Justice, I came across a site http://www.thedegreeexperts.com/sd-masters-in-criminal-justice-301.aspx
This web portal contains all the universities that offer the course of your choice.
