I am going to get an online degree, and i know often people will not take them seriouse. Are there any degrees you can get completely online that you can actually use?
I’ve often pondered over that also. I went to a seminar for At Home Professions, they are an online school for becoming a medical transcriptions. They claimed that they are a high end industry with a very profitable market, however the job you have to be a VERY fast typist and have a really good ear to hear the DR over the tape. There were several things they didn’t tell me however and they aren’t certified though a certain medical education approved creditable college. So you have to be very careful.
I suggest don’t go for anything that has to advertise on the t.v as an infomercial. If they are a successful school you should already hear about them form word of mouth. Something someone suggested to me was to ask the school for a list of there graduated students and call a few and ask them how they are doing after they graduated.
I almost went to a dental assistant school in la called DeVry but they were called Bryman before. They seemed like a good School and creditable but after I spoke with my ex-husbands Aunt and her co-workers about them, they said that their boss will never hire anyone from there.
So I say you should think about a few different proffessions you’d want to do then look up some people in those professions and call them and talk to them about it, ask questions if they know of any good creditabe schools that they’d hire students from.
Each school has its own rules about it. You can compare their rules and students feedback here – edu.2kool4u.net
As long as the college (online or campus based) is regionally accredited, any degree you earn should be accepted by any potential employers or other academic institutions.
My best recommendation would be to contact a number of colleges to find the best fit for you and your needs (tuition, schedule, career opportunities, etc.). Too often people enroll in the first school they find rather than taking the time to find the best school for them. Taking that time now could save you a lot of time, money and frustration if you choose the wrong school.
This site has some good info on regionally accredited online degrees and some colleges that offer them to help expand your search:

I think you can enter your info on there for any colleges you are interested in and they will send you more info for free. Good Luck!
There are alot of great schools online. For instance, there is South University, grand canyon, and more. If you are not sure if the school is legit, ask or find out if the school is accredited. I got to South University online it is a great school, that is legit.
Hope I helped
