It depends on the school but normally full-time is at least 12 credits. The reason the tuition is less is because you would obviously be taking less classes and may not be able to do certain things at your school unless you are full-time. Whether or not you attend full-time or part time is up to you. it will cost more in the long run to go part-time because tuition will increase every year.

Part time student doesn’t attend college as much as a full time student does. The downside to this though, is that your college course will last longer.

This depends on personal issues.
Do you work? If you do, then going to school f/t successfully may be a big challenge.
Also, starting off, there is no reason you cant start off with two classes and see what you think. If you need to do one at a time for a while or if you can do 4 at a time. 4, I believe is the minimum for f/t. If a degree takes 2 years going f/t(for example). It will take you 4 years if you take half the classes. Thats okay. Its more important you pass then take on 5 classes. People have diferent tolerences.

12 credits and up is full time.

Which should you do? Well, do you want a degree in 4 years or in 10 years?

Yes, a part-time college student is one that is taking 12 credit hours or less during a given semester. A full time college student is one that is taking 12 or more credit hours in a semester.

If you want to earn your Bachelor’s degree in social work I would suggest being a full time college student. Yes, it does cost more but it will only take about 4 years to get that degree. Trying to earn a 4 year degree while being a part-time student will take a lot longer than 4 years.
