While there are some online degree programs that are acredited, many aren’t, so make sure you do a thurough check of any school you choose. Online classes are very hard to transfer to a brick and mortor school however. A lot of schools don’t accept them at all, and many will only accept a few. So, if you wanted to enter a Master’s program, the school would have to decide that from it’s view point you have succesfully earned an undergrad degree, so they could reject you if they think you didn’t take the proper classes.

If you are looking to start out online before moving to a regular school, I would sugest checking out any local community colleges. Many are now offering associates degrees online and the transferablility of credits is much higher. That would give you at least the first 2 years of your undergraduate credits.

It would be best to talk to the school where you want to pursue a master’s degree and see what their policy is on any online school’s you might want to attend.
