Just because they “give” you a laptop does not imply that it is free. The cost of the computer is built into the education. Many schools have been providing computers for years to acclimate students more closely to their curriculum and to keep in close contact with administration and the professors.

If a school requires you to fill-out a FAFSA form, they are likely to be accredited by various state or federal agencies. Go ahead and ask them anyway and see how they respond to your question.

The program of study you choose to pursue shall clearly state in their literature if it leads to a degree or certificate. If you spend two-years in the program, expect an Associate degree; four-years should lead to a Bachelors degree. A certificate program is for a short-term program of study that may get you in the door for lower-paying trade jobs and the like.

Ask the school if they perform graduation ceremonies and if they charge for these events. Asking never hurts.

Ask if they have out-placement programs for those about to graduate and what their success rate for a job is for those who graduate from their programs.

Without utilizing the schools for information about their programs, ask potential employers if they would hire you with an education from the schools you have chosen. Ask them about who provides the bulk of their new hires.

You may wish to place this question within the Education category as this is the Geography category.
