For whatever Associates degree major you choose, they will always have the core classes that are transferable to any school as long as they have it. The only way to get the most credits to transfer is majoring in a program that UWG has. When you choose the right major, you have to see if the classes from West GA Tech will transfer to UWG from the classes you can take on that program. There is a website to see what classes transfer there or not: https://grim.westga.edu/pls/UWGP_DAD/hwwktreq.find_state

Since its a technical school, they should have an agreement contract for transfer courses with UWG and other University Systems of Georgia (four year schools). Link: http://www.westgatech.edu/Academics/business/TCSG_to_USG_Transfer_Courses_2013.pdf

So you can go ahead and choose Accounting if thats what you really want to do. And just take the courses in it.
