only your local college can answer this.
my degree has nothing to do with my occupation, you just need to have a degree to start somewhere.

Employers have been known to toss all job applications listing a U of Phoenix degree directly into the trash.

U of Phoenix is regionally accredited, so SOME credits MAY transfer, but this is entirely up to the receiving college.

U of P is regionally accredited, which means that their degrees are real and their credits are eligible to transfer to other universities and colleges. However, whether any particular class you take at U of P actually does transfer to your city university depends on two things, normally: 1) you getting a C or better in that class, and 2) that class being offered at the city university.

Unis only accept transfer credits of classes that they themselves offer. So if you take some sort of medical technology class at U of P, and the college in your city (I’ll call it “City U” for short) doesn’t offer such a class, it won’t transfer.

In addition, City U, like any uni, will look closely at the content of each class you’ve taken at U of P (or at any other college) to make sure the class really is the same as the one they teach at City U. If City U doesn’t feel that it is, the credit won’t transfer.

So while you’re U of P credits are eligible to transfer, there’s always a risk that certain ones might not. But if you stick to the basics at U of P – Freshman English, college math, US history, etc. – you should be in pretty good shape re: transfer.

U of P doesn’t have a good rep with employers, and certain employers will not hire U of P grads. Be aware of that. But if you really do transfer to City U, then it won’t matter if some of your credits were from U of P – no one will care; they only care where you graduated from.

You could take classes at your local community college instead of at U of P. They’ll be a *lot* cheaper, and because the community college has a full understanding of what City U requires re: transfers, they’ll be able to give you real guidance on exactly which classes you should take at the community college in order to transfer to City U.

UoP is a basically a fake school, so there is a high likelihood that none of your “credits” with transfer. Real colleges do not consider it of high enough quality to actually be worth the credit. It is a for-profit scam that preys on gullible, uneducated people. Get out as soon as you can and go to a community college.

University of Phoenix is a degree mill. They will charge you a lot of money for a pretty useless degree. If you google search University of Phoenix scam you can see what I’m talking about.

The college of university you want to transfer credit to will be the judge of this. They will take the UoP transcript like any other and scale it with their own course offerings. In spite of general public skepticism about the University of Phoenix per quality of education, it IS accreded by a regional accrediting association of universities and colleges just as Arizona and Arizona State and all the other mainstream colleges are, so I wouldn’t worry in this regard whether or no the local college will take the credits ‘considering the source.”
